Lower Taxes/Less Government Spending
As a Ronald Reagan often said, “Government is not the solution to our problems, government is the problem.” We should not shoulder our children and grandchildren with unsustainable deficits and out of control spending. I believe that government should be more transparent and less intrusive in our lives while living within its means as families on the Treasure Coast do.
Creating Economic Growth and Job Opportunities
As a job creator, I will work to eliminate burdensome regulations that inhibit economic prosperity. Less Government and Lower Taxes equal more freedom for Floridians. Having grown a company with an annual economic impact of $3 billion dollars, I understand that allowing the free market to operate without harmful regulations is the key to job creation.
As a mother and a person of Faith, I believe that all life is precious and begins at conception. This is a guiding value and principle.
Protecting the 2nd Amendment
The right to keep and bear arms is an essential part of our Constitution and who we are as a people. I will fight for the rights of law-abiding citizens to continue to own firearms. More can be done to address mental health and school safety while not eroding the fundamental principles and rights guaranteed to us by our Founding Fathers.
Thoughtful and innovative infrastructure are key to a favorable business environment that creates jobs and opportunity for Treasure Coast families, but NOT at the expense of public safety and quality of life. I remain strongly opposed to the current proposals of Brightline speeding through the heart of several of our communities.
As an educator, talent developer and job creator, I understand firsthand how a quality education can be the foundation to a better future. I will continue to work to ensure every child has the opportunities they need to reach their God-given potential supporting early childhood programs, public education, school choice, higher education, and vocational training.
Championing our Veterans
As the proud daughter of a WWII Air Force veteran, I learned early in life, that we honor those who put it all on the line for us. As a business owner, I’m proud that Keiser University has been rated by U.S. News and World Reports as a “Best Bet” for veterans. As they have served us, we should do all we can to honor and serve them.
The first act of an immigrant seeking to enter our great country should not be an illegal one by entering without the status to do so. I will end sanctuary cities and believe we need to strengthen our border security to keep our citizens safe.
We live in Florida because of the abundant sunshine and outdoor activities during our endless summer. Tourists visit Florida, and provide tremendous economic value, for the same reasons. We cannot have “closed due to pollution” signs on our rivers, bays and beaches. I support continued funding and meeting the project deadlines of the Lake Okeechobee reservoir championed by our outgoing State Senator Joe Negron. These discharges to coastal estuaries which forced the closures of the St. Lucie River, Indian River and some Atlantic beaches, and are threatening another severe algae bloom in 2018. . As a businesswoman, I will approach water quality and protection of our revered local natural resources with the same tenacity and drive that helped me grow Keiser University from one student to over 20,000 students, with a $3 billion economic impact annually. It’s time to send someone to Tallahassee with the proven track record of achieving results who will work with business, government and other leaders to achieve the long-lasting change needed to protect one of our most precious resources, water.
